So you've decided to go to Amanzimtotes on holiday! For your sake, we really hope that you have amazing weather...there are great beaches in Toti for you to enjoy and that's what we will be chatting about first.
Beaches
We visited four beaches in Toti. We started and ended at Toti Beach, which was as busy first thing in the morning as it was when we went back for lunch. Toti Beach has lifeguards, so it's safe to swim in the sea and there is a pool as well. The beach is really big and there is plenty of space for everyone. You will find restaurants on the beach, as well as Splash Waterworld. If the parking lot is full, there is another, just a short drive onwards.
Winkelspruit is another popular beach for holiday makers and had a bit more parking spaces available than Toti Beach. There is also a pool here and it's safe to swim in the sea. There are a few holiday resorts and apartments around, so you'll see a lot of holiday makers on this beach.
Warner Beach was very busy and we found it quite difficult to find parking. There is a beautiful rock pool at this beach and a great takeaway restaurant called Baggies. The 1/4 caramel is definitely a must try! If you want to safely swim in the sea, you'll have to walk down the beach to Doonside, where there are lifeguards.
What to do in bad weather
Luckily there are plenty of options if you find yourself in Toti and there's bad weather. If it's windy, but you still want to be outdoors, we suggest the following:
Illanda Wilds - here you can find an off road cycling track
Toti Japanese Gardens - it's protected from the wind and a lovely place for a family picnic
Bird Park - a very peaceful environment, perfect for a picnic and there are braai areas available
In the case of rain or really cold weather, you can go to Galleria Mall. You will definitely be able to spend a whole day there...movies, ice skating, bingo, restaurants and shopping are just a few of the options at the mall.
Restaurants
There are plenty of options when it comes to restaurants. Let's start with coffee, if you're looking for your morning brew, we suggest Seattle Coffee at the Oasis. They have plenty of coffee and hot drink options and you can go and sit outside on the balcony, sipping on your coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean.
On a Sunday, Lords and Legends offer a delicious Sunday buffet, we didn't eat there, but it was really vibey and the food looked really good. Instead we decided to have lunch at the Thirsty Whale, it was extremely busy, but we were lucky enough to find good seats. We ordered the fish & chips, and the calamari & chips. Each portion was quite big and also really good. There was live music, great views, good food and drinks and it was a great experience overall.
Where is your favourite spot in Toti?
